OUR DRESS

The Full Story

The dress symbolizes all the women lost or hurt due to prejudice or discrimination during World War Two. Much of it has been sewn together from scratch in the shape of the dress the women in Camp  Ravensbrück (there is an article about it on our website) used to have to wear and is completely covered in newspaper articles about discrimination and abuse against women from the present.

The purpose of the dress is to link the past and the present to reveal the similarities and the areas in which we have not changed. We hope to showcase this part of our project at Firstsite, Colchester, to raise awareness about the subject, within the general community.
